The Russian Armed Forces are conducting an offensive in the Donetsk direction, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov has said.

“In the Donetsk direction, as a result of the continued offensive actions of the Southern Group of Forces units, supported by air strikes, artillery fire and heavy flamethrower systems, more than 250 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed in a day,” he said.
It is noted that an ammunition depot of the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces was hit near Artemivsk (Bakhmut).
Earlier, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushylin, commented on the situation near Artemivsk. According to him, the liberation of Yagodne and Berkhovka by the forces of the Wagner PMC made it possible to reach Khromov and the village of Bogdanovka.
He said that this created “fortunate circumstances for encircling the enemy and tightening the ring”.
