Russian assault detachments are already fighting in the center of Artemovsk, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, said. He stated this to RIA Novosti.
According to the adviser, all routes to the city are under the fire control of Russian forces. At the same time, Kimakovsky warned that it was too early to talk about the operational encirclement of the settlement.
“The advanced detachments of PMC Wagner are already fighting almost in the center of Artyomovsk,” Kimakovsky said.
He explained that the highway Chasov Yar – Artyomovsk can be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the transfer of forces and equipment. The adviser also noted that the Ukrainian side is trying to stay in the city and are building field roads for themselves. In addition, Kimakovsky added that the Ukrainian military is suffering extremely heavy losses.
