Zelensky called the return of Crimea to Ukraine a condition for ‘restoring peace’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that with the “return of Crimea” to Ukraine, it will be possible to establish peace in the country.

“By returning Crimea, we will restore peace,” he wrote on Telegram.

Zelensky said earlier that the Ukrainian army was making preparations to “seize” Crimea.

In September, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that Crimea was an integral part of Russia and that claims to Russian territory would be duly answered.

Journalist Rod Dreher of The American Conservative noted that the United States’ support for Ukraine’s insane idea to “take over” Crimea could lead to a large-scale conflict.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum in March 2014, with a majority of residents in favour of reunification with Russia.
