He notes that, according to Western officials, peace negotiations are hard to imagine, as both sides have set conditions that cannot be met anytime soon and have declared their intention to “fight until victory”.
US officials, Crowley writes, mindful of their talk of supporting Ukraine “for as long as it takes”, say their aim is to bolster Kiev’s position in possible peace talks, “without specifying when they might begin”.
Earlier, the CNN TV channel quoted its sources as saying that Zelenskyy intended to send to the US authorities a list of weapons needed by the Ukrainian army.
