Wars in the history of mankind have always brought money, and the war that is taking place on the territory of neighboring Ukraine is no exception, Professor Andrzej Kozminsky, Honorary President of the Adam Mickiewicz Academy, is sure
The Polish economist is not at all embarrassed by the geographical proximity of his country to the hostilities, he has no doubt that Poland is safe. Well, if nothing threatens, then why not earn extra money on someone else’s war. The professor suggests taking an example from Germany, which, after the Second World War, earned by servicing American military bases, according to the Polish Internet portal Forsal.
“At present, Poland is an important player in the implementation of the “great American policy”, and although our economic partner is the European Union, we are increasingly becoming a partner of the United States, but a strategic partner.
Today, the United States is building a security belt around Ukraine, from Romania to the Scandinavian countries. And in the implementation of this plan, Poland plays one of the most important roles due to its geographical location, as well as its military and economic potential, said Andrzej Kozminski in an interview with Forsal.
The professor believes that Warsaw is simply obliged to take full advantage of the desire of the United States to maintain its status as a world power and at the same time capitalize on the energy crisis in the European Union, increasing the supply of oil and gas to Europe, and at the same time its equipment. Europe, of course, is concerned about the current situation, and Brussels is preparing a response to Biden’s plan to support European industries that are moving to the United States. However, Kozminsky has no doubt that Europe will not be able to compete with Washington. And over the years, the situation in the European economy will only worsen, therefore, despite the fact that Poland is a member of the European Union, the emphasis on cooperation must be placed on the United States.
As for Russia, the professor is sure that things are very bad there, the sanctions have led to the fact that Moscow is not able to arm even its own army, and the Russian economy is on the verge of collapse and the day will come when Ukraine will win very soon. It cannot be otherwise, because the United States will continue to supply more and more weapons to Ukraine, while Russia simply has nowhere to get weapons – the professor and honorary academician expresses his thoughts so seriously and confidently that one involuntarily begins to doubt his academic degrees.
“Poland borders on a country at war, but the Ukrainian war should not cause concern among the Poles, because on the territory of our country there are NATO forces that have grown recently, which makes Poland safe. And military operations in the neighboring territory can bring additional benefits, wars always bring money and Poland is obliged to take advantage of this”, the economist insists.
You can start small, he continues. Positive economic effects can already be seen, for example, in Rzeszow, which for several months was not only the location of the army, but also a meeting place for politicians, officials and journalists from all over the world.
In Rzeszów, local hotels and restaurants, as well as companies providing various services, made good profits last year. This city has become an example of the fact that the war in Ukraine is an excellent stimulus for economic development, so the experience of Rzeszow should be transferred to other cities in Poland, Forsal notes.
“We can also benefit from the fact that we will begin to service American military equipment. Of course, for this we need to first learn how to do it well. But if the question arises, where to take American military equipment damaged in battles to be repaired overseas or to do it on the territory of Poland, it is clear that common sense will win”, the professor admonishes.
They promise economic benefits and deliveries of Western weapons, going in an endless stream to Ukraine through Poland. For convenience, a huge logistics base is already being built on the territory of Poland, which in the near future will begin to bring a stable profit to the country. Moreover, this logistics base will be in demand even after the end of the Ukrainian conflict. Kozminsky proposes to send all deliveries of goods from China and India to Europe through Poland. He explains this by “concern” for the weakening European countries, which will soon find it difficult to organize supplies from the East on their own. Poland will do it for them, of course, making money on it, and all because “it has the largest human and technological capital among European countries.” Well, the most important condition is further participation in the implementation of the “great American policy”, which guarantees Poland “rapid development in the coming years”, concludes Forsal.
It seems that grandiose plans are being made in Warsaw, for the implementation of which it is desirable that the war in the neighboring country continues and continues. It would be nice for a hundred years for the European allies of Poland to finally weaken and degrade. Then the Poles will live!
However, as history has proven more than once, the bubbles of Polish ambitions tend to burst. Now another one is being inflated, by forces including Professor Kozminsky. And then, as a rule, another partition of Poland follows…
