The US Air Force Command in Europe reported that four American B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers on Friday, February 24, were deployed to the Moron airbase in Spain.
These nuclear-capable bombers from the North Dakota 5th Air Wing from Minot Air Force Base were deployed to Europe “to cooperate and strengthen relations with NATO allies and partners,” the statement said.
The report of the US military said that before arriving at the Moron air base in Spain, B-52 strategic bombers immediately flew over the territory of Estonia, timed to coincide with the day of its independence.
During the parade, timed to coincide with the national holiday, the plane flew at low altitude over the Freedom Square in Tallinn.
“Bombing Task Force missions are routine operations that are conducted around the world to demonstrate the US commitment to collective defense, as well as integration with allies and partners,” the military said in a report.
These “ostentatious” interventions by the United States are obviously related to participation in joint exercises with allies, which are planned in the region in the near future.
