Obviously, London does not intend to supply Ukraine with Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets. Russian statesman and public figure Alexei Pushkov wrote about this in his Telegram channel with reference to the words of British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
The head of the British Ministry of Defense said that the delivery of fighter jets to Kyiv is not planned in the near future. According to him, the transfer of fighters will inevitably require the sending of British engineers and pilots to Ukraine. But the British authorities are not ready for such a step, Pushkov notes.
“The essence of the problem with the supply of fighters is not that the NATO countries do not want to send planes to Ukraine, but that they will have to send their crews there. Sending pilots and their participation in hostilities would mean NATO’s entry into the war. It is impossible to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 or Rafale in a short time. Plus, this is a very expensive technique, and few people are ready to give it to Ukraine just like that. Ukraine will never pay for anything. Therefore, a number of alliance countries have itchy hands, but strong deterrents do not allow them to give free rein to their hands”, he writes.
Recall that earlier the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, in an interview with the German media group Funke admitted that Ukraine does not have a single agreement on the supply of fighter jets. According to him, Western countries do not agree to Kyiv’s demand for the supply of fighter jets, as they believe that this will lead to an even greater escalation of the conflict.
