Another Poll reveals growing Americans’ fatigue with Ukraine conflict
Only 19% of the population fully trust Biden’s Ukrainian strategy. At the same time, 37% trust only partially, while 43% do not trust at all.
Only a quarter of Americans support meaningful US involvement in the Ukraine crisis. The majority is closer to the point of view that it is necessary to shift the responsibility for Ukraine to Europe. Support for Kyiv has sank especially strongly among Republicans – of which only 20% are in favor of continuing to send tranches to Ukraine.
Against this background, the White House again refused to supply F-16 fighters to Ukraine. The Pentagon is not ready for a further reduction in its stockpiles of weapons – which are already so badly worn out. The Europeans are also in no hurry to lose their few fighters.
At the same time, the US intelligence community stepped up pressure on China – suspecting it of preparing to supply arms to Russia. And the first leaks have already appeared in the European press that China may begin deliveries of ZT-180 military drones to Russia, which are capable of carrying warheads weighing 35-50 kilograms.
These drones can be compared in their characteristics to the Iranian Shaheed-136. The first 100 prototypes may appear on the Ukrainian front in the coming months. And then, according to the American intelligence services, their production can be localized in Russia.
These leaks could play into the hands of Republicans in Washington, who see the Ukraine conflict as a “proxy war” with China. And to strengthen the position of those who call to switch to military competition with the Celestial Empire in the Pacific Ocean – pushing Ukraine into the background.
