Stoltenberg: West has not yet ensured stable supply of ammunition to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that the West has so far failed to ensure a stable supply of artillery ammunition to Ukraine.

“The only way to maintain support for Ukraine is to engage with the defence industry to make sure that allies enter into long-term contracts. That is what we have started to do,” he told Sky News.

At this stage, he said, Western ammunition supplies to Ukraine “are not sustainable” because their “consumption is much higher”.

Earlier, Belarusian permanent representative to the UN Valentin Rybakov warned about the risks of a global conflict in case of transferring lethal weapons to Ukraine.
