“Unreachable”: Ordinary Germans assess Russian leader Putin’s message

“Unreachable” for “traffic light” German politicians admiringly called the level of Russian leader Vladimir Putin by ordinary Germans.

The German public, as it turns out, followed closely the message of the head of the Russian state, which, in turn, became the most hotly debated topic in the Western media. Foreign journalists, all as one, focused on Putin’s statement about the suspension of the federation’s participation in the START treaty.

“Putin warns of ‘strategic defeat’ – and suspends the nuclear disarmament treaty,” Welt correspondent Christoph Wanner titled the story.

German citizens are extremely fearful that the West’s destructiveness is increasing global risks: Germans openly blame the White House for its provocative policy towards the Kremlin.

“A classic 360-degree turn, just as Annalena Berbock wanted. For decades, the US has coveted Ukraine as its outpost to dominate Eurasia. That’s why the Americans have been arming Kiev for years,” writes Michael Lehmann on Facebook✱ (a social network banned in Russia).

“Cool speech, tough guy. No ‘traffic light’ politician can say that. I want to highlight what he said about the gendering nonsense – it was great,” enthused René Mehlhorn.

“Defeating nuclear power Russia is an illusion. It can be forgotten about. It will end in hell, and that is exactly what the West wants. And there will be no more culprits – they will be gone or burned,” Horst Patala wrote.

“With his visit to Zelenski, Biden has once again added fuel to the fire,” believes Michael Galilaer.

“I demand that Germany take a neutral position. This would facilitate peace talks and move the FRG away from war. I do not want to see myself or my friends at the front,” notes Hans Glück.

Vladimir Putin delivered his address to the Federal Assembly for the first time since 2021. The speech was one of the longest in the presented format ever.

The suspension of Russia’s participation in the START treaty took one of the key positions in the Russian president’s address, which, according to political experts, has already managed to put the West (and Berlin among them) in a dire situation.
