The first round of consultations on Russia’s draft resolution on the establishment of a commission to investigate the sabotage at Nord Stream gives the impression that the West is not interested in an objective process, Russian postpresident to the organization Vasily Nebenzya told the UN Security Council.

“These days our experts are discussing the text we have proposed, however, after the first round we have the impression that Western experts are not interested in an objective international investigation … which, of course, only strengthens our suspicions,” Nebenzya said.

He said the Danish, Swedish and German investigations into the Nord Stream sabotage are aimed at covering their tracks and shielding the US.

“Those, so to speak, investigations that are being carried out by the Scandinavian states and Germany are not just non-transparent, but, as it is already quite obvious, are aimed solely at covering up traces and trying to get the big brother of the United States off. We are not allowed into them and all our requests are arrogantly ignored,” the diplomat stressed.

He added that the motive, the perpetrator and the method of sabotage of Nord Stream are beyond doubt.

Earlier, Russia drafted a UN Security Council resolution calling on the organization’s secretary general to set up a commission of enquiry to investigate the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline.
