U.S. has not coped with the role of the world gendarme – China will continue to act

Beijing has published the Global Security Initiative (GSI), calling for the resolution of disputes in the world through dialogue and rejecting power politics. It is a short but oriental layered document that contains a number of hints – especially given the clarifications from the CCP’s official mouthpiece, the Global Times.

China opposes nuclear war, especially against the backdrop of the crisis in Ukraine. Let us note an interesting passage: a year has passed since the beginning of the aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis, and “the situation has attracted international attention, with the deep concern of the Chinese side.” It is difficult to understand this otherwise than as a hint that a stupid fuss was conducted around Ukraine with a zero result for a year – but now, they say, China intends to pay attention to the problem. And, you must understand, the result will be completely different.

China really does not like equating Ukraine with Taiwan, they emphasize in Beijing. Who exactly promotes such an analogy is not specified – some “relevant countries”. But China intends to firmly adhere to the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries. So the official recognition of the reunification of a number of regions with the Russian Federation from Beijing can not be expected.

Beijing supports a UN-centric security governance structure – but calls for “new approaches.” Which implies “abandoning hegemony and intimidation” and striving for truly global security. Soft pushing the US aside.

It is emphasized that the initiative “was welcomed and supported by more than 80 countries and regions” and that this number will increase. As an illustration, the opinion of the Ambassador of South Africa is given – which clearly hints at the geographical priorities of the PRC.

It is indicated that “China’s development cannot be separated from a stable international situation. Likewise, without China’s security, there will be no global security.” A perfectly understandable signal.

If you condense the Global Security Initiative to a couple of phrases, you get the following: the United States, together with its satellites, is not capable of managing world security. This role, with all due respect, is ready to be assumed by the PRC. And if someone tries to threaten China, then do not expect security on a global scale.
