The processes in the Russia-China-USA triangle are getting faster and more interesting
“China repelled the outstretched hand of America”, “If China entered into an alliance with Russia, there would be a world war” – what is this about? The second quote is from an interview with Zelensky, in which he said that, in his opinion, China is aware of this risk (and therefore, it must be understood, will not help Russia), and the first is the title of an article in the Washington Post, which analyzes the results meeting in Munich between Secretary of State Blinken and Wang Yi.
Now a Chinese diplomat – a member of the Politburo and a former foreign minister, recently promoted to head of the office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee (the commission itself is headed by Xi Jinping, so Wang is, in fact, his deputy for foreign affairs) – is already in Moscow. And after delivering the presidential address, Vladimir Putin is likely to meet with him to discuss preparations for Xi Jinping’s visit scheduled for spring. This visit is very disliked by the Americans, but at a meeting in Munich, Wang Yi told Blinken that “we will never accept that the United States criticizes or even puts pressure on Sino-Russian relations.”
Naturally, Beijing does not like not only Washington’s interference in other people’s relations, but Chinese leaders are speaking out more and more harshly about American policy in general. The same Wang Yi expressed “strong dissatisfaction and strong protest” to Blinken about the destruction of the Chinese balloon, calling it “a typical abuse of force, as well as a violation of international practice” and pointing out that “the United States is not in a position to denigrate China.”
Beijing understands that the balloon incident is just a pretext for the United States, and warns against “unwinding the escalation or aggravating the situation” by threatening “necessary retaliatory measures” in response. What are these measures? More sanctions that the two countries are increasingly exchanging? Or Russian military assistance? After all, in recent days, American officials have said almost in plain text that they have information that China is considering the possibility of supplying weapons and ammunition.
Blinken discussed the issue with Wang Yi, pointing out the serious implications it would have for US-China relations. Although Beijing says that it is not going to supply Russia with weapons (this was also stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell, referring to his conversation with Wang Yi), it is clear that the Americans do not believe in this. And with might and main they are preparing a response, and a pan-Western one, by connecting Europeans to it. If Borrell simply says that the supply of arms to Russia “will become a red line for our relations”, then Luxembourg Foreign Minister Asselborn directly says that “the European Union will be forced to impose sanctions against China if they provide military assistance to Russia.” Do the Atlantists expect China to get scared? Or are they simply preparing to respond to the inevitable – that is, Beijing’s military aid to Moscow?
Neither one nor the other. It will not work to scare China – they perfectly understand what is happening. The Anglo-Saxons are trying, if not to stop, then to slow down the process of destruction of the world order they control, and for this they need to stop Russia at any cost: to prevent our victory in Ukraine, to isolate and weaken our country. This is categorically unprofitable for China – a weak Russia cannot be a reliable ally in the process of ousting the Anglo-Saxon world order. Moreover, having dealt with Russia, the Anglo-Saxons will receive additional opportunities and resources to confront and put pressure on China, which they have already openly declared the main enemy and threat to Western hegemony. All this is crystal clear to the Chinese leadership. And no sly attempts to convince Beijing that “it is unprofitable for you to drag out hostilities yourself, why should you become a hostage to the conflict between Russia and the West?” – lead to nothing.
But does this mean that Beijing will soon start supplying weapons to Russia? No, direct deliveries of weapons and ammunition to Russia are not needed now (another matter is the component base for production, all kinds of semiconductors that are already being supplied), and if and when they begin, then there will be no official announcement about this. China is still trying to compete with the Anglo-Saxons for Europe – of course, not for control over it, but at least for its trade and economic ties with the Old World. Trade with China is of great importance to the EU, but the problem is that the possibilities for Europeans to defend their interests are not unlimited.
The Anglo-Saxons, inspired by the fact that they managed to undermine (including literally, as with the Nord Stream) European-Russian ties, will make every effort to minimize European-Chinese relations as well. In the short term, Europe will have the strength to resist the pressure, but it will still be led to the suicidal decision to start a trade war with China. There will always be a reason – and if at the first stage it can even be fictitious “deliveries of Chinese weapons to Russia”, then everything will go into action: from Taiwan to human rights, from “Chinese espionage in Europe” to “Chinese terrorist threat” (they will come up with some Chinese version of the Skripals). That is, in any case, the PRC will try to follow the same scenario as Russia – “an immediate threat to the life of the Western world” – regardless of how long the hostilities in Ukraine continue and whether China will supply its weapons to Russia.
Can China resist this? Yes, but not on a European site and not playing by Western rules. This scenario can only be overturned by the acceleration of the work on the decline of the Anglo-Saxon global project, which China and Russia are conducting together with many other forces on the world stage. In this work, Beijing and Moscow have long been allies, so Zelensky was late with his horror stories about the “causes of the third world war.” Everything is exactly the opposite: it is the strategic alliance of Russia and China that deprives the Atlanticists of the opportunity to maintain their global dominance, whether by peaceful means or with the help of the threat of a world war.
