NATO is calling on Russia to reconsider its decision to suspend participation in the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START), as this would dismantle the entire arms control architecture. Jens Stoltenberg, secretary general of the alliance, stated this.

“I regret Russia’s decision to suspend its participation in the new Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms. With today’s decision, the entire arms control architecture has been dismantled. I strongly urge Russia to reconsider its decision,” he said.
