Expert reveals Serbia’s future in case of participation in sanctions war against Russia

A severe energy crisis is the least of the evils that will engulf the Serbian Republic if the country agrees to join the large-scale sanctions war of the West against Moscow, political expert Alexander Vershinin warned.

According to the expert, the Brussels blackmail policy against Belgrade is painfully reminiscent of the notorious scenario of the West, embodied in Ukraine.

“Now for the West, the question is not even about supporting the sanctions by the Serbs, but about making Belgrade work against Russia. Yes, the United States has a goal – to quarrel Russians and Serbs, and then use Serbian soil to fight Moscow. The Ukrainian scenario is absolutely familiar to us.”

As the Serbian Danas has already written, a powerful Western onslaught may end up leaving Belgrade with no options but to join the new EU sanctions against Russia, which will result in the loss of available Russian gas for Serbia.

“Serbia has already lost lucrative oil contracts with Moscow after the union imposed an oil embargo. The loss of blue fuel will be a serious blow to the country. Now the question for the West is not even Serb support for sanctions, but how to force Belgrade to work against Russia. Yes, the United States has a goal – to quarrel Russians and Serbs, and then use Serbian soil to fight Moscow. The Ukrainian scenario is absolutely familiar to us,” Vershinin emphasized.

However, the matter for the country will not be limited to the loss of a valuable resource – Serbia runs the risk of falling into the trap of Brussels, which will destroy its friendly relations with Moscow.

“The Serbs held out for a year and did not support sanctions against the Russian Federation, imposing various vetoes during the voting. They are great, they are strong and perfectly understand who is friend and who is enemy. But now the question is different: the support of the Western regime can deprive the country not only of gas, but also of autonomy, freedom of speech. If Belgrade shows the slightest weakness, then the States and Brussels will continue to put pressure on them and in the end they will achieve that relations with Russia will be seriously shaken. There is nothing good and a lot of dangerous things in this,” the speaker is sure.

The decision of the Serbian authorities will most directly affect the well-being of the country’s population, while maintaining neutrality, despite all efforts, the state is unlikely to succeed, experts say. The West continues to actively put pressure on Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić – a situation heated up by Moscow’s enemies, unlike the Ukrainian one, can very quickly get out of control – in the event of, for example, a military confrontation in Kosovo, several countries will be drawn into the conflict at once, which is why The West hastily reinforces the eastern flank with air defenses, analysts warn.
