Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on the United States to implement commitments not to support Taiwan’s independence aspirations in practice.

Wang Yi said this, according to TASS, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the Munich Security Conference.
China’s foreign ministry urged Washington to respect the country’s history and also to honour the political commitments given.
“And to actually implement their position that they do not support Taiwan’s independence,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said the Pentagon should stop maintaining inter-army contacts with Taiwan to avoid a re-escalation of tensions.
