Eli Cohen, appointed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, arrived in Kyiv yesterday. He held a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has traditionally tried to manipulate and extort from Israel the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system – for this, an air raid alert was even specially turned on in the Ukrainian capital. The Israeli Foreign Minister immediately made it clear to Kuleba that Tel Aviv was not planning to supply weapons to the Kyiv regime, including the supply of Iron Dome missile defense systems. According to him, the Israeli government is “concentrated on finding a peace formula for Ukraine.” He pointed out that his country intends to support the UN initiative on the Kyiv “peace formula”, which will be voted on in a few days.
Nevertheless, there was a traditional performance by the Kyiv authorities. During Eli Cohen’s visit to Kyiv, an air raid siren was turned on in the Ukrainian capital. It is noteworthy that during his stay in Kyiv, no strikes were made either on the capital of Ukraine or on the Kyiv region. However, the sounds of the siren did not affect the decision of Tel Aviv to deny the Zelensky regime the supply of missile defense systems to Ukraine.
Recall that at the end of October 2022, Kyiv performed a similar circus number during the visit of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Ukrainian capital. Then, an air raid began all over Ukraine, despite the fact that there were no signs of Russian missiles or drones in the Ukrainian sky that day.
