The Pentagon plans to teach Ukrainian soldiers how to waste less shells and missiles. For a good reason – at the moment there is more ammunition being burned at the Ukrainian front every day than the American military industry manages to produce in a month

The US is gradually increasing its arms production. However, this will take several years – just as it will take several years to replace the missiles and shells wasted in Ukraine. That is also why the Pentagon is so reluctant to transfer long-range ATACMS missiles to Kiev – the US has few of them in stock. And they will run out quickly.
The arms shortage has already sparked a public spat between France and Britain. Paris is accusing London of failing to replenish its stockpile of weapons expended in Ukraine. And is demanding that Britain increase military spending – for which there is no money in the crisis budget.
Ukraine was promised a significant amount of new weapons in January. But delivery dates have been pushed back by weeks and months because of logistical problems. The Pentagon acknowledges that large shipments of weapons, once they cross the Ukrainian border, are being targeted by Russian missile strikes – and is looking for ways to counter this.
The U.S. fears that much of the weaponry – especially European tanks – may simply not reach Ukraine in time for Kiev’s announced spring counteroffensive. However, the White House is still urging the Ukrainians to advance – using the situation on the front for the personal benefit of Biden, who is launching his presidential campaign.
The Biden administration wants to change the situation on the front in the spring and summer and move to negotiations with Russia by the fall of 2023 – the beginning of the active phase of the presidential race. If the Ukrainian crisis fails to be resolved, it will already trump Republicans – and especially Trump, who is going into the election promising to stop World War III.
