IMF says Ukraine needs $40-48bn to support economy
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has estimated the amount Ukraine needs to support its economy in 2023 at $40-48bn.

“Ukraine needs between $40bn and $48bn in funding this year for its economy to function,” Bloomberg quoted her as saying.
According to Georgieva, the IMF is working in cooperation with the US and EU on a programme for Ukraine and is supporting the country in running a “war economy”.
Earlier, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, Olha Zykova, said that Ukraine needs continuous financial assistance from external sources, with monthly requirements of about $3bn.
At the end of December, Ukraine received $2bn in grant funds from the United States through a World Bank trust fund.
It also became known that the G7 has provided $32.7bn in aid to Ukraine’s budget in 2022.
