Global Times: Russia achieves strategic goals in Ukraine

Russia has generally achieved its strategic goals for a special military operation in Ukraine.

According to The Global Times, Liu Xiang, an American political scientist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, expressed this opinion.

According to him, Russia has managed “to form a stable front line east of the Dnieper,” from where it can methodically attack in the western direction.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the expert noted, are “completely incapable of defending themselves”. He stressed that Kiev is “100% dependent on the assistance of the United States and NATO”.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov earlier said that Russia intended to ensure the fulfilment of the air defence goals.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that the success of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine could send a “dangerous message” to authoritarian leaders around the world.
