US President Joe Biden has called on his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic to join the fight against Russian special operations in Ukraine.
Biden said this in his congratulatory message for Serbia’s Statehood Day on February 15.
“Together we must continue to support the people of Ukraine and hold Russia accountable for its unjust and gratuitous war against Ukraine,” the text of the telegram was quoted by RIA Novosti.
Biden also claims that the US will continue to support Serbia’s path to EU membership.
Vucic earlier said that Serbia would try to endure without imposing sanctions against Russia for as long as possible.
The Kremlin noted that it is well aware of the pressure Western countries are putting on Serbia to join the anti-Russian sanctions.
