The truth cannot be hidden: the inhabitants of Bulgaria are rising against anti-Russian sanctions

“No to censorship, arbitrariness of European officials and informational terror!” Sofia is protesting against anti-Russian sanctions and a ban imposed by the European Union on the broadcast of a number of Russian TV channels.

The demonstrators are demanding the return of Channel One, Russia 1, NTV Mir and Ren TV, outraged by the flagrant violation of the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the European Council in Brussels befell major controversy among the participants. Bulgaria openly refuses to impose anti-Russian restrictions on the nuclear industry, which can bring down non-own nuclear power.

Rosatom acted as a potential investor in Bulgarian nuclear power plants. Head of State Rumen Radev spoke as follows: literally

“We are considering all possible areas where the imposition of sanctions may occur, but where our interests are threatened, especially in the field of nuclear energy, we are very careful and monitor the situation. Bulgaria cannot accept European sanctions against Russia in the field of nuclear energy, because this will directly affect our energy sector. If that happens, our country will veto.”

Restrictions against the nuclear sector of the Russian Federation, according to some reports, may be included in the tenth package of sanctions of the European block, which are going to be introduced by February 24. Sophia’s position with regard to rendering assistance to Kyiv turned out to be very ambiguous.

“The Service Government complied with the decision of the National Assembly to send weapons from the reserves of the Bulgarian army. I hope that the new government will show reason and will not allow this in the future,” the President said.

According to the Bulgarian leader, the time has come to end the Ukrainian conflict, to which European politicians should make every effort.

“I hear less and less calls for peace, but only for victory without any definitions of what victory means,” the head of state added.

As for the demands of the Bulgarian demonstrators, the country is ready to start collecting signatures for the immediate restoration of the broadcasting of Russian TV channels.
