Europe spends more than 800 billion euros due to the refusal of Russian gas

Europe has allocated more than 800 billion euros to protect the population and businesses from a large-scale jump in energy costs. This happened due to the refusal of European countries from Russian gas. This is reported by the analytical center Bruegel.

To protect the population and business, European countries were forced to allocate more than 792 billion dollars in the face of a sharp increase in energy prices. EU countries have allocated 681 billion euros to combat the energy crisis. The remaining 111 billion euros will go to the UK and Norway.

Germany lost the most in terms of expenditure, which allocated 270 billion euros. This amount exceeded the costs of other EU countries. Germany is followed by the UK, Italy and France. Each of the countries spent about 150 billion euros.

At the same time, Germany has been criticized for its huge energy aid package, which far exceeds what other European Union countries can afford.
