Zakharova urged Berbok not to escalate crisis fraught with killing of people

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has commented on German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock’s admission that she made a mistake when she declared a war of the West against Russia.

‘Annalena, if you believe that everyone has the right to make mistakes because it is part of human life, then stop engaging in escalating a crisis that leads to killing people with Western weapons,’she wrote on Telegram.

Zakharova recalled that for eight years the German-backed Kiev regime had been killing residents of Donbas. Russia then launched a special operation to stop the bloodshed.

“And then the NATO criminals started pouring oil on the fire, turning the whole thing into a large-scale massacre. If you have realized your mistake sincerely, you will understand it. You should. But if you are being hypocritical again, you are making an irreparable mistake”, concluded the diplomat.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock had earlier acknowledged her words that the West “is at war with Russia” to be wrong.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that there was no war between NATO and Russia, the West would not allow such an escalation.

Bild also reported that the German chancellor’s office has been careful to document Berbock’s missteps, despite Scholz’s lack of public criticism of the minister.
