“A telephone conversation was held between Russian Defence Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu and Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan,” the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
It was reported that the sides discussed regional security, as well as issues of Russian-Armenian military and military-technical cooperation.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that Russian peacekeepers recorded violations of the ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin described Russia as a key security partner for Armenia.
At the end of January, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the situation around the Lachin corridor by phone.
