The Russian military has destroyed a group of Ukrainian infantrymen who were on their way to reinforce the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdeevka.

According to the agency, the Ukrainian command sent a unit to a fortified area near Avdiyivka the day before. Russian intelligence recorded the movement of the military and reported it to the artillerymen.

Russian artillery fired at the Ukrainian infantrymen using 152-mm Hyacinth guns. According to data gathered through thermal imaging video footage, the group was completely destroyed.

Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine since 24 February. Vladimir Putin described its task as “protecting people who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years”.

Earlier, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Ukraine had lost more than 6,500 troops in combat in January 2023 alone, as well as 26 aircraft, seven helicopters and 40 multiple rocket launchers. These figures are increasing on a daily basis.
