The topic of the peace treaty with Japan is closed for Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
“As for the topic of the peace treaty, as you know, it is closed for us,” she said during a briefing.
Earlier, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said that Tokyo still stands by its intention to conclude a peace treaty with Russia.
In January, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there were no prospects for negotiations between Russia and Japan on a peace treaty.
