Western plans to isolate and surround Russia with a sanitary cordon have failed, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

“Today we can say that Western plans to isolate Russia, to surround us with a cordon sanitaire, have failed,” Lavrov told RIA Novosti during a gathering to mark Diplomat’s Day.
He noted that Russia was strengthening good neighbourly relations with countries in Eurasia, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that thanks to the efforts of Russian diplomats, it was possible to foil the plans of the collective West to isolate our country.
