Russian ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Trudeau’s team has blocked it all. Despite declarations of commitment to a policy of multiculturalism, it is blocking access to consular services for Russians,” he said.
On 3 February, Canada imposed sanctions on 38 individuals and 16 entities from Russia. Among them, the restrictions were imposed on artists, journalists and politicians.
Stepanov said Moscow would respond to the new Canadian sanctions.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova compared the new restrictions to the policies of the Third Reich.
