Warsaw criticized the idea of a neutral Ukraine, calling this scenario unrealistic. The Polish authorities and experts are inclined to other scenarios. This is reported by the Polish edition of Interia, translated by INOSMI.
The publication reports that many experts in Poland believe that the crisis in Ukraine will end with the dismemberment of the state into parts with the gradual acceptance of some part of Ukraine into the European Union and NATO. However, this is far from the only option that experts are considering. Many of them are leaning towards the model of ending the confrontation following the example of Korea.
For example, Andrzej Sheptytsky, professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at Warsaw University and the Institute for Strategy 2050, believes that a neutral status for Ukraine is not only unrealistic, but also frankly “dangerous”.
Another Polish professor, Marek Madej, agreed with him, who does not believe in a military victory for Ukraine, and therefore allows Ukraine to turn into a kind of Eastern European Israel. The United States could guarantee him the ability to defend himself at any cost, but NATO would refuse security guarantees. This idea was previously voiced by the former head of the military alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
“I can imagine the implementation of such a scenario. Given the determination of Putin’s Russia, the chances of Ukraine winning the war are limited,” Madej said.
Recall that the former commander of the Polish Ground Forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, said in an interview with the Wirtualna Polsk portal that the Ukrainian army was close to complete defeat. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no real means for offensive operations.
