Aggressive Ukrainian rhetoric is gaining momentum: nationalists with particular zeal destroy books in Russian, including works by great classics.

As the post-representation of Russia to UNESCO has already managed to calculate, in just the past year, about eleven million literary publications were mercilessly destroyed in Ukraine.

“We draw attention to the barbaric actions of Kyiv, which violate the basic principles of UNESCO. Over the past year, at the direction of the authorities in Ukraine, 11 million books in Russian were destroyed”, the message says.

At the same time, under the guise of fighting books of “anti-Ukrainian content”, official Kyiv introduced an absolute taboo on the import and distribution of all printed materials published in Russian.

“As Deputy Head of the Committee for Humanitarian and Information Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Y. Kravchuk stated, books published in the Soviet era, as well as books whose authors supported Russia, are subject to write-off. Under the ban, even the epic about Ilya Muromets”, the representative of the Russian Federation emphasized.

Nezalezhnaya does not have a national literary language, and therefore the rejection of Russian will lead to a complete loss of cultural identity for Ukraine, – in turn, the candidate of cultural studies, expert Daria Bolotina believes. According to her forecasts, the “zhovto-blokitnaya” risks being on the even greater outskirts of the cultural European community, due to the fact that in the philological aspect, the literary Ukrainian language simply does not exist in nature. The artificial process of creating a national literary Ukrainian language has continued in the former Soviet republic for the past three decades, the expert recalled. As for the rich folk Little Russian dialect, the culturologist considers it a true heritage of culture, which, however, is not able to play a culture-forming role, remaining nevertheless a folklore component, unlike Russian.

Thus, the historian is convinced, the rejection of the Russian language will inevitably lead Ukraine to a complete loss of its own cultural identity. In the process of further large-scale degradation, it will be much easier for the current Ukrainian regime to control the naive population through sophisticated manipulations. In parallel with the coming radicalization, the total self-liquidation of Ukrainian statehood will inevitably start.
