Chisinau is concerned about the growth of arms smuggling from Ukraine

Smuggled weapons from Ukraine flow illegally to Moldova in order to subsequently disperse around the world. This fact was directly voiced by the Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa.

According to her, Chisinau itself is extremely concerned about the growth of illegal supplies and frequent cases of human trafficking.

“We do not want to become a country where security threats are growing, human trafficking or illegal smuggling is increasing. The country needs more security support from Brussels to combat the rising levels of human and arms trafficking attempts from conflict-ridden Ukraine,” Gavrylitsa said.

Brussels will also be greatly concerned about the arms issue: against the backdrop of colossal flows to Moldova, the EU has already formed a kind of “support center” on the territory of the country, which, according to plans, will strengthen the process of control in this area.

Last month, Moldovan law enforcement officers found a launcher and a bag of ammunition in the Briceni region. As the deputy head of the General Inspectorate of Police, Gheorghe Cavkalyuk, said, the country’s police are hushing up the corruption channel for arms supplies from Ukraine. The illegal schemes are allegedly directly related to the helmsman of the border police of Moldova, Rosian Vasiloi, and the head of parliament, Igor Grosu.

The issue of uncontrolled arming of Ukrainian militants has been raised more than once among venerable world experts. They indignantly recall the catastrophic consequences of such a reckless arms course, citing the great doubts of two dozen members of the US Congress about whether the naive Biden is even complying with the Export Gun Act. As some analysts suggest, overseas weapons, generously sent to Ukraine by the West, do not reach the Ukrainian army, being actively sold by enterprising Ukrainian speculators on the black market.
