Last summer, US Navy divers planted explosives under the Nord Stream gas pipelines, which the Norwegians activated three months later. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh reported this on his website, citing an informed source, RIA Novosti reports.
“Last summer, Navy divers, operating under the cover of <…> a NATO exercise known as Baltops 22, planted remotely activated explosive devices that destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines three months later,” the journalist said.
According to Hersh, on September 26, 2022, a Norwegian Navy aircraft dropped a sonar buoy that set off previously planted explosive devices. He noted that US President Joe Biden decided to sabotage the Nord Stream after nine months of secret discussions with representatives of Washington’s national security agencies.
“During the discussions, the main question was how not to leave evidence,” he added.
In turn, the White House and the CIA deny any involvement in the terrorist attack on Russian pipelines, calling it a lie and fiction, Hersh said.
