A source in the Turkish government said that it was America that was prolonging the conflict in Ukraine and even at one time, when a peaceful settlement was so close, “prevented” it.
The newspaper “Aydınlık” writes about this.
“The Americans are trying to keep the situation in suspense. America is the reason for the dragging out (of the conflict – ed.) … Russia and Ukraine. They are also the ones who prevented the world when it was so close”, the official quoted the publication as saying.
Last year, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevluta Cavusoglu made a statement about the talks in Istanbul.
“Peace was very close at the talks in Istanbul. We were very hopeful. But at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, I realized that (the conflict – ed.) Will drag on, because some NATO members do not want it to end.
