The fear of being condemned by Europe influenced the position of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić towards Russia. Thus, he stated that the Republic had to vote for a resolution condemning the special operation in order to remain on the international stage.
As Vucic noted, although Serbia did not impose sanctions against Russia, it had to condemn the special operation in Ukraine at the UN in order to remain on the international arena.
At the same time, the Serbian leader believes that the West has understood that it will be much harder to achieve the “defeat” of Russia than they imagined.
Also, the President of the Republic accused himself of the decision not to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, as he “pays a high price for this.”
“But the republic needs the support of Russia in the UN Security Council, which voted against the adoption of a resolution accusing Serbia of genocide,” Vučić added.
