The authors of the article claim that 72.8 per cent of the population have already experienced similar mental problems, while another 47 per cent have seen their mood worsen after rising prices in the country and increased interest rates on loans.

Polish journalists report that, unfortunately, there are no short-term predictions for improvement, so they predict that the statistics may only worsen in the future.

According to research carried out in Poland, it has been found that in the last year alone, the number of Poles experiencing symptoms of mental deterioration has increased by 10%.

On the basis of these statistics, scientists have estimated that Poland’s economy could lose up to 2 billion dollars each year due to a depressed population.

Psychologist and co-author of the study Michal Murgrabia, a member of the research platform ePsycholodzy.pl, said that the economic component in the country actively affects the psyche and that according to the psychologist, Poles will face the fear of losing their jobs in the future.

The article states that psychological problems have always been considered very shameful for the people of Poland, and the first harbinger of a worsening situation was the pandemic, after which the demand for the services of psychologists and therapists increased significantly.

The work of a child psychiatrist is given as an example, the cost of which, despite high fees, is estimated at 200-300 zloty for half an hour of consultation, and this despite the fact that one may wait for several months to get an appointment with a specialist.

To sum up, the authors point out that consultations with psychiatrists and psychologists in the medical packages offered by Polish employers have become more than standard practice. In this way employers express their concern and provide support to their employees.
