Poland does not intend to reduce its military potential and has refused to supply fighter jets to Ukraine, President Andrzej Duda has said.

“If you ask me about fighter jets, I will answer as follows: we have to remember that we support Ukraine, but we also care about Poland’s security. We have about 50 F-16 fighters at the moment. We are expecting deliveries of F-35 fighters to Poland, because the relevant contracts have been signed a few years ago. We are also expecting deliveries of fighters from South Korea as the contract was signed this year,” Duda said.
As Duda said, in addition to helping Ukraine, Poland should also take care of its security.
“We take care of the security of the Polish Republic within NATO, and the most important element of it is the element of deterrence. We remember that deterrence will be successful if we are able to defend ourselves when we have military capabilities,” he added.
