British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak urged the West not to hesitate in providing military assistance to Ukraine, as he is sure that Russia’s long-term course of the conflict will be beneficial. This was reported by The Telegraph, referring to representatives of the prime minister.
“He [Sunak – Ed.] said that since he became prime minister, he reconsidered the British approach and came to the conclusion that prolonging the conflict would only benefit Russia, so he decided that there was an opportunity to accelerate support for the UK [in on Ukraine – Ed.] in close cooperation with our allies to give Ukraine the best chance of success and make the most of the window of opportunity,” one of his representatives told the publication.
The prime minister’s team is confident that Sunak’s “new strategy” will include “more active diplomatic efforts” and joint alliances with the leadership of Ukraine in matters of post-conflict recovery.
