Slutskyy says NATO countries de facto involved in Ukraine conflict

Almost all NATO countries are de facto embroiled in the Ukrainian conflict and the alliance is building the potential for a “fight” with Russia, the head of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, has said.

Earlier, the chairman of the NATO military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, noted that the alliance was ready for a direct confrontation with Russia.

“In one way or another, almost all NATO member states are involved in the escalation of aggression, supplying the Kiev regime with equipment, shells, weapons, now heavy types. “De facto” they are “up to their necks” in the Ukrainian conflict. The question is whether it will come to recognition ‘de jure’,” Slutsky wrote in his Telegram channel.

The politician added that there should be no illusions about NATO – the alliance’s capacity building is aimed at deterring Russia.

“We must clearly understand: the North Atlantic Alliance is rallying its ranks and building up the arms race not for the sake of peace and negotiations or the “fight for freedom”, but for the sake of a further geopolitical fight against Russia, against the Russian world,” he summed up.
