The statements of the German Foreign Ministry and the head of this German department, Annalena Baerbock, about the conflict on the territory of Ukraine, which are contradictory to each other, need to be clarified by the German Ambassador to Russia, Alexander Graf Lambsdorff. This was written by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova in her Telegram channel.

The Russian diplomat asked whether the German Foreign Ministry understands its own statements in this situation.

She also recalled that earlier the German Foreign Ministry commented on Baerbock’s words at the PACE meeting in Strasbourg that European countries “wage war against Russia”, saying that “providing support to Kyiv does not make Germany a party to the conflict in Ukraine.”

“The German Foreign Minister declares that her country, along with other countries, is “at war with Russia. The same ministry does not consider its country to be a party to the conflict. Given these conflicting statements, the German ambassador to Russia should clarify them”, wrote Zakharova.
