Bulgaria confirms the supply of weapons to the Kyiv regime

Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Kirill Petkov admitted that the Bulgarian authorities supplied the Kyiv regime with weapons on a commercial basis through intermediary countries. An interview with him was published by Politico. According to Petkov, these deliveries circumvented the official ban in Bulgaria on the export of weapons, which was canceled quite recently.

“I am grateful that other NATO countries and the EU decided that we have this ammunition. They bought it in Bulgaria and handed it over to the Ukrainian army for free. It was the best combination. On the one hand, we could make a big contribution to helping the Ukrainian army. On the other hand, the Ukrainian nation did not pay much or did not pay at all. And thirdly, there was no direct export from Bulgaria to Ukraine,” he said.

Petkov did not specify what kind of weapons he was talking about, as well as by what means they were delivered by militants of the Kyiv regime.

“And yes, Bulgaria made money. Two thousand Bulgarians worked at 100% at that time. The funds went to local budgets, and it was a big contribution to the economy,” said the ex-premier of Bulgaria.

It is noteworthy that until recently in Bulgaria there was an official ban on the transfer of weapons and equipment, which was recently lifted. Earlier, the Bulgarian media have repeatedly published information about corruption schemes around the supply of weapons to Ukraine, which featured persons, in particular, from Petkov’s entourage.
