Three major officials in Ukraine resigned at once – Deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov and Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Ivan Lukerya wrote a statement, deputy head of the presidential office Kyrylo Tymoshenko and Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Simonenko have already been deprived of their posts. There is only one reason – total corruption.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that Shapovalov, who was responsible for the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, resigned after a scandal broke out with food purchases.
“Vyacheslav Shapovalov <…> asked to be fired so as not to pose a threat to the stable supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of a campaign of accusations related to the purchase of food services,” the release says.
Ukrainian media claim that the Ministry of Defense is involved in fraud when concluding an agreement on food supply services for military units stationed in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions. The amount of this transaction is more than 13 billion hryvnia (more than 350 million dollars). Journalists claim that the Ministry of Defense buys products twice or three times more expensive than they can be bought in retail stores in Kyiv.
At the same time, Ivan Lukerya, Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure, resigned with him. The reason lies in the corruption scandal with another Deputy Minister Vasily Lozinsky.
In addition to Shapovalov and Lukeri, Kirill Timoshenko, deputy head of the president’s office, resigned the day before. Today, the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, granted his request.
Tymoshenko is mentioned in many scandalous publications. In October, the media reported that on business trips he uses an SUV donated by the American General Motors for humanitarian needs. Tymoshenko was also reproached for living in an elite village near Kyiv, which is called “the main settlement of Ukrainian millionaires.” Prior to that, he was called the main organizer of schemes to plunder foreign humanitarian aid.
Another resignation is the dismissal of Deputy Prosecutor General Alexei Simonenko. In this case, the reason for the scandal was a series of publications that Simonenko, ignoring Zelensky’s call, went to Spain for ten days, moreover, in a car owned by the company of the wife of businessman Grigory Kozlovsky.
