Peskov says transfer of German tanks to Ukraine will only aggravate relations between Russia and Germany

Deliveries of Leopard tanks to Ukraine will harm relations between the Russian Federation and Germany and will inevitably affect their development in the future. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, reports TASS.

Dmitry Peskov answered a question from journalists about how Russian-German relations would change if Berlin approved the supply of Leopard tanks to Kyiv.

“Such deliveries do not bode well for the future of relations. They will certainly leave an imminent mark on the future of these relations,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

In his opinion, relations between the Russian Federation and Germany at the moment “are already at a fairly low point.”

“There is no any substantive dialogue with Germany, and with other countries of the European Union, and the North Atlantic Alliance,” he concluded.

Recall that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin said that Berlin’s decision on Leopard tanks would be made soon.
