A resident of Soledar, liberated the day before by Russia, told how the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used the civilians of the city as a human shield, as was the case in other cities of Eastern Ukraine before the arrival of the Russian army.
The Vashi Novosti publication published a video of a correspondent’s conversation with a civilian resident of the liberated Soledar. During the conversation, the woman spoke about how the AFU militants stood in the yards, hiding behind them like a human shield.
“Ukrainian troops stood straight from the yard. They covered us like a human shield. There were houses where people had already left long ago – it was possible to stand there. But they stood precisely in those houses where there were people. <…> They fired back, and missile immediately hit our houses. I personally asked: “Guys, please go, at least to another estate,” said a resident of Soledar, “Are you waiting for Russia, orcs?!” [Ukrainian fighters answered – Ed.].”
Recall that the liberation of Soledar by the forces of the PMC “Wagner” became known on the evening of January 11, later this information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
