Ukrainian investigators cannot reliably prove the origin of the kamikaze drones used by Russia, which are allegedly manufactured in Iran, Ukrainian media reported, citing an official from the office of Prosecutor General Ivan Chizhevsky.

“To say that these drones are Iranian-made or not, we cannot yet say. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. It will not be swift,” he was quoted as saying by Suspilne.

The prosecutor said that a large-scale expertise involving various specialists is required. Chizhevsky noted that investigators are trying to establish why the Russian and Iranian drones are similar and to find out where they were produced. But this work is hampered by damaged markings on drone parts, and the investigators themselves consider the preserved markings to be unreliable.
