Lynn Tracy will replace former US Ambassador John Sullivan in her post.

“The new ambassador will arrive in the Russian capital at the end of the month,” one of RBC’s interlocutors said.

Until that moment, Elisabeth Rude acted temporarily in American affairs in Moscow.

At the end of December last year, the US Senate confirmed Tracy as ambassador to Moscow. She will become the first woman head of the diplomatic mission in the history of relations between the two countries. Prior to her appointment to the capital of the Russian Federation, Lynn Tracy headed the US Embassy in Armenia.

The appointed ambassador wants to increase the number of employees of the embassy and in the future to resume the issuance of visas.
