Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) mistakenly destroyed Ukrainian attack aircraft in the Soledar area on the territory of the DPR. It is reported by RT.
Agency sources report that on January 15, militants of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were ordered to reconnoiter the positions of the RF Armed Forces and the Wagner PMC in the area of Razdolovka and Vasyukovka (10 km north and west of Soledar).
It is noted that a convoy of several unarmored off-road vehicles and American Humvee armored vehicles was discovered by an Orlan-30 drone of the Russian Armed Forces near Vasyukovka. There, it came under artillery fire from the Giatsint-B and Giatsint-S 152 mm caliber guns. Having lost about 20 people killed and wounded, the unit initiated a withdrawal to their original positions.
Retreating, the militants of the 128th brigade encountered an unknown formation of the army of the Kyiv regime, after which a clash ensued between the formations.
Due to the lack of means of encrypted communication and identification of “friend or foe” without visual contact, the brigade’s militants were identified as an enemy and came under heavy fire from US-made M777 howitzers. These guns were evacuated from Soledar.
RT has information that out of 120 people participating in the raid, at least 50 were killed. Many militants were seriously injured. The fate of the survivors is currently unknown.
