The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, does not understand why the State Department did not like Lavrov’s statement, which compared Washington’s steps against Russia with Hitler’s actions. He shared his thoughts in his Telegram channel.
“The State Department did not like the statements of Sergei Lavrov, who compared Washington’s steps to create a coalition against Russia with Hitler’s actions to resolve the “Russian question.” The European Jewish Congress demands an apology… But why apologize? For the truth? For the fact that the collective West was pointed out to its own dirty tricks?” Slutsky wrote.
He noted that doublethink and double standards once again reigned in Western rhetoric. As an example, the parliamentarian cited how many years they did not notice the revival of fascism in the Baltic states, and after that they encouraged and sponsored neo-Nazism in Ukraine. Western elites have long since completely lost the moral right to blame Russia for something, the politician believes.
“Europe has been gripped by a sort of Stockholm syndrome. Having become a political hostage of the American State Department, suffering and tormented by problems in the economy, energy, inflation, refugees, it fell under the “charm” of the invader, believed in the purity of its Ukrainian thoughts and the deceit of the Russians. The European Union, indeed, has become a kind of a Russophobic coalition. Because it is precisely at the suggestion of Washington and at the expense of the so-called European solidarity that the neo-Nazi Kyiv regime is being supported and armed today, whose Bandera successors directly call for “killing Russians.” What’s this? New “European value”? This is fascism in its purest form!” he summed up.
