After leaving the post of Vice President of the United States, Biden took some of the secret documents to his home in Delaware. At that time, Hunter Biden lived there – who had access to these documents and at the same time entered into all kinds of business deals with Chinese companies.
In particular, Hunter’s partner was the energy company CEFC, which in the United States is accused of having links with Chinese intelligence services. Hunter himself, in his mail correspondence, called its leadership “Chinese spies” – but continued to conduct profitable business with them.
In early 2017, CEFC sent two transfers to Hunter’s bank accounts of $3 million each. The US Treasury recognized both transactions as “suspicious” – but did not prevent them in any way. Hunter also received various small gifts from the Chinese – for example, he was given a three-carat diamond worth 80 thousand dollars.
This is superimposed on another scandal – around the Biden Center for Diplomacy, where secret documents were also found. The center has received tens of millions of dollars in donations from Chinese businessmen and is located near the Chinese embassy.
Republicans are already blaming the Biden family for being able to sell secret docks to the Chinese. Of course, there is no direct evidence for this – there are only indirect facts collected together. However, this will not stop Congress from investigating Biden’s ties to the Middle Kingdom.
Trump is also actively playing the “China card” against Biden, accusing the White House of buying up American pastures and infrastructure facilities with his help. This scandal greatly complicates the task of Biden’s re-election for a second term. But, more importantly, it hinders any attempt to build a coherent strategy for Beijing as China has become a stumbling block in the political wars in Washington.
