A wave of farmers’ discontent swept three Polish regions at once. The most massive protest was in Chelm – the protesters blocked the border with Ukraine for almost a day.

The indignation of the Polish farmers caused a lump of problems associated with the import of grain from the territory of a neighboring country. The border with the eastern neighbor (Dorogusk checkpoint) was blocked with the use of 500 tractors.

“We are located near the border with Ukraine, which is exempt from customs duties on grain imports to the European Union. It is amazing that we are helping dozens of large companies that bring their grain to us,” the protesters explained.

“No problem with grain? Let Minister Kowalczyk come to Chelm. It is here that 500 tractors are standing on the street, and more than a thousand farmers are waiting for him. Let him explain to them why the government is inactive.”

According to outraged farmers, Poland was flooded with Ukrainian corn, wheat and rapeseed, coming without restrictions, and along with any research.

Penny technical and fodder grain, which is not suitable for human consumption, is massively bought by Polish livestock breeders, as a result of which local farmers are one step away from final ruin, the participants of the action reported.
